Der Bio-Award – die Wahl zum besten Bio-Betrieb des Landes

Mit der öffentlichkeitswirksamen Verleihung des Bio-Awards wird die zukunftsweisende, nachhaltige und biologische Wirtschaftsweise der Bio-Betriebe thematisiert. Im Mittelpunkt stehen die Biobauern und Biobäuerinnen, ihre ganzheitliche Wirtschaftsweise und die daraus resultierenden Leistungen für Umwelt und Gesellschaft, die weit über die Lebensmittelproduktion hinausgehen. Der so erbrachte Mehrwert ist für die Gesellschaft von hohem Nutzen.

Die Leistungen der Biobäuerinnen und Biobauern stehen im Mittelpunkt

Gesucht sind Biobäuerinnen und Biobauern die am besten auf Umwelt, Klima, Mensch und Tier achten. Die sich beispielsweise mit der Erhaltung alter Rassen und Sorten beschäftigen, sich gezielt um Hecken oder Biotope kümmern, kulinarische Spezialitäten herstellen, alternative Energiekonzepte verfolgen oder sich im Speziellen dem Humusaufbau widmen, sich neben der Landwirtschaft auch mit der Wissensvermittlung als Exkursionsbetrieb oder Bio-Infobäuerin beschäftigen, ihren Arbeitsalltag durch innovative Ideen und Lösungen erleichtern oder sich aus dem „Wir schauen aufs Ganze“ Gedanken heraus im sozialen Bereich engagieren.

Die Entscheidung ist gefallen. Am Mittwoch den 11. Juni wurde erstmals der Bio-Award Salzburg verliehen. Gewonnen hat die Biobauernfamilie Widauer aus Leogang. ORF Salzburg und BIO AUSTRIA zeichnen Bio-Betriebe aus, die sich besonders im Sinne von „Wir schauen aufs Ganze“ engagieren.
